7- Day Trip
Chachapoyas, Karajía Sarcophagi and Quiocta Caverns, Revash Mausoleums and Leymebamba Museum, Kuelap fortified citadel, Gocta waterfall.
Day 1: Chachapoyas: Reception at the bus terminal and transfer to the selected hotel, check in and free time at your leisure, dinner and Overnight in Chachapoyas.
Day 2: City of Chachapoyas: Continental breakfast, at the indicated time we will travel in our vehicle towards the town of Huancas. On the way we will make a stop at the Mirador de Luya Urco, then in the town of Huancas we will be able to observe the elaboration of the typical ceramics, the viewpoint and the canyon of the Sonche River, likewise we will visit the “La Cusana” Handicraft Workshop. Return to the city of Chachapoyas, dinner, free time at your leisure and Overnight in Chachapoyas.
Day 3: Karajía Sarcophagi and Quiocta Caverns: After breakfast, we will be transferred in our vehicle to the province of Luya – Lámud, continuing our tour visiting the towns of Cohechan and Cruz Pata. From this point we will walk for 20 minutes to the burial site of Karajía. These sarcophagi belong to the pre-Inca culture of the Chachapoyas. This form of burial is considered unique in the world. Upon returning, we will have lunch in the city of Luya. Then we will visit another natural tourist attraction located in the district of Lamud, province of Luya, in the middle of the typical vegetation and at 20-minute distance, we will see the impressive limestone needles of different shapes and sizes known as stalactites and stalagmites. Return to the city of Chachapoyas, free time at your leisure, dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Revash Mausoleums and Leymebamba Museum: After breakfast we will leave for the town of Santo Tomás to begin our walk and visit the Revash Mausoleums, which belonged to an archaeological complex parallel to the Chacha culture (1,100 to 1300 AD) made up of rectangular buildings of 1, 2, and 3 floors. There are remains of ropes, feathers, nets, necklaces, ceramics, bones, etc., which apparently in their time were offerings to their dead. After our visit we will go to Leymebamba to visit the Mallqui museum, which houses more than 200 mummies found in the Laguna de los Condors. Lunch and return to Chachapoyas. Free evening at your leisure, dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Kuelap fortified citadel: At the indicated time we will leave for the fortified citadel of Kuelap, after 45" we will arrive at the archaeological zone of Macro, observation and explanation of the housing complex built on the slope of a hill, then we will arrive at the town of Nuevo Tingo to board the Kuélap Cable Car concessionaire (cable car) for an average of 25 minutes, and then arrive at the Malcapampa parking lot, where we will begin the uphill walk for about 20 minutes, thus arriving at the main entrance of Kuelap, then we will visit different places such as ceremonial enclosures, the main temple, circular rooms, etc. The tour lasts approximately 3 hours, then return to Nuevo Tingo for lunch and return to Chachapoyas. Free evening at your leisure, dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Gocta Waterfall: After breakfast we will begin our trip to the town of Cocachimba where we will begin the walk that will last approximately 3 hours, and then arrive at the foot of the waterfall. The path takes us along narrow trails and dirt roads with a great diversity of flora and fauna. This region offers a beautiful combination of geography and history that makes it a magical place. Time to take photos and swim. Box lunch. Hike back to Cocachimba. Return to Chachapoyas. Dinner, free time at your leisure and overnight.
Day 7: Chachapoyas – Lima / Jaén / Chachapoyas. After breakfast, free time to go shopping. At the agreed time, transfer to the bus station. End of services.
